  PROCESS
It's hard to believe there was a time when a swimming pool contractor could meet with a client, sign a contract, acquire permits, lay out the pool with a garden hose and begin construction within a few days of the first meeting!
Times have certainly changed and the process of designing, permitting, constructing, and managing a swimming pool project has become a complicated mystery for homeowners.
Our clients rely on us to:
- Guide them through the initial design and planning of their swimming pool, attend town, wetland, conservation and architectural review board meetings
- Acquire necessary permits
- Plan for the sequenced construction of their swimming pool projects
- Manage and coordinate all phases of construction
- Manage and coordinate year round post construction maintenance of their swimming pool projects.
This is how we work:
Contact
When you call All American Custom Pools and Spas you will be surprised how much personal attention you will receive in answering questions regarding our company and your swimming pool. After our conversation we may suggest a meeting at your home to further discuss your project.
Initial Meeting
Meeting with you on your site enables us to help you articulate your vision and share ours. It's also a great opportunity to get to know each other, to view our portfolio and talk about design, budget, and timing of your project.
Preliminary Design and Budget Planning
After visiting your site we will create a preliminary design plan addressing your functional and aesthetic needs, as well as site parameters such as building setbacks, wetland and conservation issues, and other restrictions that may be imposed on your site. Additionally we will estimate the costs and devise a strategy for developing the project in phases.
A Visit to Our Showroom
All American Cutom Pools and Spas offers the unique opportunity for you to experience a swimming pool environment in the comfort of our indoor showroom. View our workmanship, pool and spa features, the latest in computer technology and lighting, all in the Old World environment of a villa courtyard on the Amalfi coast of Italy!
We will then review the design and costs for your new swimming pool and discuss any changes that might be needed to facilitate your decision to move forward with your project.
Design Development and Contract
We will meet once more at your home to review any design revisions and present the Contract for your swimming pool project. Our contracts are very comprehensive and we will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding terms and payment. Once the contract is signed we can begin the permit process.
Permitting
We prepare construction drawings to submit along with all permit applications and forms. Depending on your town the plans and permits will be reviewed by the health, wetland, conservation, planning and zoning, and building department officers. You should be prepared for this process to take 2- 8 weeks before a permit is issued.
Pre-construction meeting
This meeting will take place on your site and you will be asked to attend. We will stake out the pool location and review our construction schedule with you as well as noting any special instructions you may have regarding work on your site.
Construction
The construction of your pool will occur in phases that include excavation, forming and steel in preparation for concrete, applying the concrete shell of the pool under pressure, setting tile, coping and terrace, and the application of the pool finish. The average length of construction is approximately forty-five days.
Start-up
Once your pool is plastered it is filled with water and the start-up of your pool begins. Our service manager will give you an in depth orientation regarding the use and maintenance of your new swimming pool.
Service
All American Cutom Pools and Spas has a comprehensive Service Department with a fleet of trucks and a 5,000 square foot warehouse. We will custom tailor a service agreement for your specific needs and requirements. Over 90% of the pools we build are maintained by our Service Department.
